Mission Mindedness
Mission Mindedness
In the movie “World Trade Center”, Nicolas cage and Michael Pena play two New York City policemen trapped under 25 feet of massive rubble on September 11, 2001. With concrete crushing them, and explosions all around, they fight for their lives wounded and dehydrated. Finally, the search and rescue team locates them. A Marine is at the top of the rubble calling down to one of them. One officer yells back begging; “Please don’t leave us, we’ve been here for days.” To which the response was, “It’s O.K., I’m a Marine. You ARE MY MISSION.”
That was a WOW moment for me. I really connected with that sort of purpose in my life. Day in and day out I pray that God would send me the sick and suffering; those hurting and in need of healing. In our office, we see people coming from different cities, states, and sometimes different countries to receive the unique gift of healing and compassion God has blessed my staff and I with. Why? Because there’s never been a greater need in the history of mankind. There is, without a doubt, more sickness and disease devastating our families than ever before.
Each week I speak in the community at a different place of work or worship. Why? Because THE PEOPLE ARE MY MISSION. With as much high blood pressure, cholesterol, diabetes, and depression as there is right now, I’m not OK with just sitting in my office, hoping these people live long enough to get my help. My community workshops are search and rescue missions for the millions of people that will die a miserable early death if I don’t get to them in time. Most of these people have been living on the medical merry-go-round; going from one doctor to the next, from one drug to the next, continuing to develop more and more disease. To me, they are all “trapped under the rubble”, and praying for a way out.
At each event, I always have people approach me looking for solutions to their health challenges. There exists a major lack of knowledge in the realm of health and healing today. Day after day, I hear the cries of the people: “My doctor gave me a prescription for Lipitor, and I really hate taking drugs. Is there anything else that will help me?” “My husband was just admitted to the hospital for diabetes. The doctors said he’ll need to be on meds for the rest of his life.” “My mother has just been diagnosed with breast cancer, and we don’t want to do the chemotherapy; is there anything else?”
YES! There is another way. All it requires is obtaining a little wisdom and knowledge, and then applying it. In Proverbs 3:13-14, Solomon claims this to be of better profit than silver or gold. Of course! People would pay anything to have their health back once they lose it. Unfortunately, by then it’s too late. You may ask; “what can I do to help?”
Provide us with the name of the person who sets up workshops, continuing education, job safety, speakers for your group, etc. and I will personally contact them to schedule an event that will absolutely save, change, and transform the lives of the people in your organization.
